What is Information Architecture?
Information Architecture is necessary when any information system is
involved. The information architect designs
an information space in a similar way as an architect designs a building
in physical space with a focus on aesthetics, functionality and
usability or user-experience goals. The
information architect employs organizational requirements, aesthetics
and usability considerations to implements this information space,
information system or interface.
The main focus of Information Architecture is currently on World Wide Web interfaces. The Information Architect allows to site visitors to find the product or information of a specific website. The Information Architect approaches this task through the use of navigation design, graphics, multimedia, labeling, and information.
